The Kokusai Karate Kobudo Kyokai (KKKK or 4K) maintains a high level of non-commercialism and is devoted to teaching karate and kobudo at its highest level, as a martial art and as a way of life. To this end, 4K conducts lectures, seminars and regularly scheduled intensive training sessions for all students, as well as a continuous training program for advanced students and instructors.
We are a “NO POLITICS” Association where rank is earned through years of dedicated training. All Internationally Certified Promotions are based on World recognized standards of “Time in Grade”.
The Mission of the 4K is to protect the original Traditional Karate and Kobudo based on the foundation of Budo. Its goal is to maintain the concept of human development through Traditional budo training.

The Kokusai Karate Kobudo Kyokai is managed by the following officers;
Kiichi Nakamoto Soke was born in 1927 and began his study of Gojuryu Karate-do directly under the founder, Grandmaster Chojun Miyagi at the Garden Dojo in 1937. He continued to train with Miyagi Sensei until his passing, at which time, he continued to follow Eiichi Miyazato Sensei, first at the Garden dojo and then following him to the Jundokan. Nakamoto Sensei was one of the few Jundokan students promoted to 10th Dan Hanshi directly by Miyazato Sensei, and was third in the line of seniority at the Jundokan . Today Nakamoto Sensei continues a relationship with the Jundokan So Honbu and the Miyagi family. He is the president of the Gojuryu Okinawakan Karate-do Kyokai.
Nakamoto Sensei is also the president of the Ryukyu Dento Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai. He is a direct blood line descendant of the Ugushuku Samurai Family. He trained directly under Shosei Kina Sensei, the 2nd head master of Ufuchiku Kobujutsu. He continued his training with Kina Sensei until his passing in 1980, at which time he continued to train with Kina Sensei senior most student, Shinei Kyan Sensei, until his passing in 1997. Today he is a 10th Dan Hanshi of Ufuchiku Kobujutsu.
Jones Sensei has been training in the Martial Arts since 1977. He is an internationally published author and retired Chief of Police.
Chief Jones holds senior grades in Karate, Kobujutsu/Kobudo, Jujutsu, and Iaijutsu/Iaido. All awarded by well known Japanese and/or Okinawa based groups.
Chief Jones is a member of the Goju-Ryu Okinawakan Karate-Do Kyokai and the Ryukyu Dento Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai. He is a direct student of Kiichi Nakamoto, Kaicho. In an effort to spread the true martial arts of Okinawa, Jones Sensei serves as North American Director to the Goju-Ryu Okinawakan Karate-Do Kyokai, the Ryukyu Dento Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai, Vice President to the Sekai Dentokan Bugei Renmei, and Vice President to the Ryukyu Karate Kobudo Kenkyukai.
Hobbs Sensei is the head of the worldwide Dentokan, which was founded in 1994 as a means of providing instruction, and certification, in the various martial arts he has studied and practiced for nearly 60 years. Col Hobbs holds senior grades in Karate, Kobujutsu/Kobudo, Jujutsu, and Iaijutsu/Iaido. All awarded by well known Japanese and/or Okinawa based groups. He is certified by the Japanese based International Karate Masters Association (IKMA). Within the IKMA, he serves as the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do Director.
Col Hobbs is a member of the Goju-Ryu Okinawakan Karate-Do Kyokai and the Ryukyu Dento Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai. He is a direct student of Kiichi Nakamoto, Kaicho. In an effort to spread the true martial arts of Okinawa, Col Hobbs serves as an Advisor to the Goju-Ryu Okinawakan Karate-Do Kyokai, the Ryukyu Dento Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai, and the Ryukyu Karate Kobudo Kenkyukai. Col Hobbs is also a direct student of Atushi Shimojo, Soke of the Dai Nippon Iaido Kyokai (DNIK) and the Kokusai Budo Koryu Kyokai (KBKK). Within these two groups Col Hobbs serves as the DNIK and the KBKK Vice President.

Kokusai Karate Kobudo Kyokai, is an association that seeks to preserve and promulgate the traditional martial arts of Okinawa and Japan. It was founded by C. Michial Jones as a means of providing instruction, and certification, in traditional Okinawan and Japanese martial arts. Jones Sensei holds senior grades in Okinawa Karate Do, Okinawa Kobujutsu/Kobudo, Jujutsu and Iaido, having trained in them since 1977. Jones Sensei is assisted in the leadership of the association by Colonel (ret.) Roy J. Hobbs.
4K Mission: To preserve and teach the traditional martial arts of Okinawa and Japan. We strive to accomplish this in an environment free of intimidation, politics, and other distractors. We further seek to foster a spirit of fellowship and understanding, welcoming all like-minded individuals, regardless of race, gender, ethnic background, religion, national origin, or physical handicap.

Membership/Affiliation: Kokusai Karate Kobudo Kyokai is largely made up of students of Jones Sensei and Hobbs Sensei, and their students. Others wishing to join should seek out an affiliate dojo, attend one of the regularly scheduled national and international courses, sponsor an instructor to visit one’s dojo, or contact the Hombu. . Name Explanation: Kokusai Karate Kobudo Kyokai = International Karate Kobudo Association. In this context Karate encompasses any traditional Okinawan or Japanese system and Kobudo encompasses any Okinawan (Ryukyu, Matayoshi, Ufuciku, ect.) or Japanese (Jujutsu, aikijujutsu, Iaido, ect.) system of weapons or ancient empty hand art.

Our members are like a family. Members are never spoken to or treated in a disrespectful manner. Instructors are never humiliated. Information flows freely and everyone has a voice. We train in traditional Okinawan and Japanese martial arts and we have fun doing it.
4K will consider any application for membership regardless of age, race, sex, or religious belief. There are however a few requirements for obtaining membership; the primary requirements being that you believe in studying traditional Okinawan or Japanese Martial arts, in researching, sharing information, and training. You also must be a good citizen and moral citizen. We require instructors to attend at least one Gasshuku per year. Membership dues are $25 per student per year and $50 per dojo per year.
The Kokusai Karate Kobudo Kyokai is an organization devoid of power struggles, egos, and politics. Our Annual three-day Gasshuku cost less than $150 to attend. We have very reasonable grading fees. All member dojo (Shibu) are considered equal and each Shibu Dojo reports directly to Honbu Dojo. The organization also offers training in multiple disciplines and rank certification in all of them. In addition to the above named benefits we also offer our members various means in which to communicate, stay in touch, and to share information; such as an organization Facebook Page, this website, and an organizational video sharing which is free to all members.
